So, you’re going on a casual date. Remember the word “casual.” It means “no stress,” so don’t freak yourself out thinking about what to wear. All that’s going to do is show in the way you dress.

Here are five outfits you can choose from to look casual yet terrific.

One, you’re almost done

Colored pants are a must. Today’s statement is not dull with gray colors, casual or not. Skinny pants that brighten up an evening wherever you’re going is the look.

Together with the skinnies, wear a loose top that’s colorful but not dramatic. You don’t want people to think that something terrible is going to happen at any moment.

Your top could be a hoodie or plain turtleneck. A lot depends on whether it’s freezing, but it’s going to be warm where you’re headed.

Dress to be comfortable, like it’s been thrown together as if you couldn’t care less.

Two, make way for you

Secondly, your feet must look fabulous. Simple sneakers seem to be what everyone’s wearing these days.

You may think that you don’t have to pay any attention to your feet at all because they don’t make any fashion statement. You could be wrong. Some guys have a “feet first” policy and direct attention to that area of your body first off.

Bet that shook you up, but that’s the way it is. The easy slip-on is great for evening restaurant wear, and although they may not look like anything much, just one studded star on each slip-on could make a world of difference.

This says, “I am different.” If you don’t want to blend in, a simple statement such as the star speaks volumes. If you can’t buy the slip-on with stars, buy them separately and stick them on.

With the third, be free as a bird

Think Brooklyn 1950. A simple tea dress with a petticoat and a thick waistband will have people looking and then looking some more. This throwback number could start a whole new trend. It’s very casual yet very different.

You could top that off with a little box hat. What’s the bet that no-one else is wearing anything like this. Small stiletto heels, which is very Brooklyn 1950, put your feet first with a huge difference.

But be careful. This is uber radical.

Four, oh, please give us more

More is what you’ll get when you study your outfit very carefully and think about what you can add to what is already ubiquitous.

So, you have the types of denim, which are everywhere, and not going anywhere. What can you do with a denim because you know that clothes are so important, even on a casual date?

Well, everyone knows that ripped denim is very 2019. But what do you do to keep them but add that unique difference that is very today? Color the ripped areas.

Match your sling bag with the colors you have dyed your ripped denim areas, and you have something very 2021, especially if parts of your hair match that shade.

Five, and now you’re alive

You’re not going Brooklyn 50 tonight, so you’re wearing a very simple maxi dress. It may look like you’re going to the Farmer’s Market, but that’s your look for your date. It’s what you want people to think.

Especially on warm summer evenings, this is so simple yet uber-feminine. Wear a simple necklace with an outfit that will add sophistication. It’s so understated, it’s hardly there, but it makes a world of difference. Today, it’s very much an expression of you, whatever that may be. Casual or not, that’s what counts a lot.

Everything is about adding on. It’s all different, but it somehow comes together as if you’ve designed your clothes and could start a major new label.
