Route 66 is as classic and American as you can get. This trip begins at Lake Michigan in Chicago and goes thru to Los Angeles. Give yourself about two weeks, and as the famous country song goes: “get your kicks on Route 66”.
You know that if a highway is immortalized in a song, it really must have something great going for it.
The whiskey route

Jazz – and fine food
Your trip ends in New Orleans, and you couldn’t ask for more than taking in this great city, sampling the jazz and fine food on offer. Most certainly, a road trip and a holiday you won’t forget.

This is a comfortable three-day trip that stops aplenty along the way and ends it off with a great stay in San Francisco. You could even consider hiking in the Big Sur National Park as a bonus to your Pacific coast adventure.
