Moms today can receive inspiration and encouragement in ways not available to moms in the past.

Whether they are having difficulty with practical issues, like what to put in a child’s lunchbox, or battling with serious issues like cyberbullying, other moms who have experienced the same difficulties as them often have the answers.

Mom directories

Choosing mom blogs to follow is easy today with all the lists and directories available. On some blogs, you will find a directory of many different types of mom blogs. Healthy mom’s magazine also has a mom’s blog directory.

Directories usually offer short descriptions of the blog, and it is easy to bookmark one for future reference. They offer advice on just about every parenting topic you can imagine and every stage of parenting.

1. They cover all the stages of parenting

From teen mothers to those with children who have left the nest, other mothers are going through the same stage as you and blogging about it.

Expectant mothers can easily find out more about natural childbirth, breastfeeding, baby creams to use, and every other issue faced by first-time mothers. They can read reviews about specific products and find out which ones provide the best value for money.

New moms can read about when other new moms have had midnight meltdowns when babies have crying jags. They enjoy stories about how other mothers have managed to get their babies to sleep through the night or eat solids for the first time.

2. You can find out about a wide variety of topics

Find out more about homeschooling, health and fitness, fashion and beauty, family life, single parenting, and much more. You no longer have to figure things out on your own when a few clicks can take you straight to a source of useful information.

Learn how to save money, go green, bake, craft, and organize your life. Get advice on baby sleep hacks or how to manage tantrums. Whatever topic you need to know more about, you will find sage advice from another mom.

3. They can make you laugh and give you courage

Many mom blogs are written in a quirky, humorous way that gives other moms a good laugh and the courage to face another day when they are sick, and everything is going wrong. Moms often relate funny anecdotes to which you will relate.

Parenting can be very stressful at times and reading a story that amuses, you will instantly help relieve some of the stress. Being a mom usually means giving up some “me time,” but reading an entertaining mom blog will help you to relax and make you feel better because you aren’t alone.

4. You realize that others feel they are failing too

It is very easy to feel as though you are failing while bringing up your children. None of us want to mess up our children, but we are constantly told what we should and shouldn’t do. Please don’t say no to them, or we’ll make them lose confidence.

Please don’t say yes to them, or we’ll spoil them. A constant barrage of information often makes us feel that we’re failing to live up to what’s expected of us. It is very comforting to read that other moms are also figuring things out as they go along.

5. They offer supportive communities

Networking and connecting with other mothers online allows you to share and become part of a community. Most mom blogs allow you to comment on posts. This is a great place to ask a question or leave a comment related to the blog topic.

Stay-at-home moms often lack the benefit of stimulating conversation when looking after babies or toddlers. Interacting with other moms online who share the same struggles can offer much needed emotional support.
